Graduated from Ceramic Science & Technology Dept. of Zhe
Jiang University in 1962.
Currently holds the following titles:
Senior engineer of professor rank enjoying government special
allowance Member of the third and the fourth Editorial committee
of the Journal of Chinese Ceramic Society and the chairman
of Petrographic & Physicochemical Analysis Professional
Committee of Jiangsu Provincial Ceramic Society .
The posts held before :
Part-time tutor of Nanjing Chemical Engineering College for
the postgraduates for master degree in the field of non-metal
materials .
Vice dept. director, dept. director, director of sub-institute,
and deputy chief enginear of Nanjing Fiberglass Research &
Design Institute.
Achievements:
Devoted most of his carrer to the research of physicochemical
properties of glasses and accomplished many important research
projects regrding fiberglass compositions, performance and
speciality fiberglass.
As a main researcher, developed E-glass and No5 C-glass fibers,
which are now widely used by China fiberglass industry. Due
to the achievement in developing low boron content E-glass
fiber aimed at reducing air pollution and production cost,
received a third grade prize of Science & Technolagy Progress
awarded by the State Administration of Building Material Industry.
As a project leader, developed high strength glass fibers
No2 & No4, and in virgin state these fibers have tensile
strength of 4020MPa ,4600MPa and modulus of 83Gpa and 86GPa
respectively. As compared with E-glass fibers, the tensile
strength has increased by 30~40% and modulus by 13~18%. The
high strength glass fibers have been used as reinforcement
and found wide applications in both milltary and civil fields.
Because of this achievement,received in 1993 a third grade
prize of National Science & Technology progress,and in
2000 the secand grade prize of Science & Technology Progress
awarded by National Defence Science & Technology Committee.
