20th China International Glass Industrial and Technical Exhibition (China Glass 2009) will be staged at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre on May 13-16, 2009. This is another grand gathering of the glass industrial communities in the world. The exhibition is organized by the Chinese Ceramic Society and co-organized by the Shanghai Ceramic Society. The show is run by the Beijing Zhonggui Exhibition Co., Ltd.

Owing to uninterrupted innovation and development in the past two decades since its initiation in 1986, China Glass has increasingly raised its professionalization and internationalization and now has become one of the three largest international glass exhibitions in the world. It serves as a platform for trade talks and technical exchanges, which has the largest scale and greatest commercial significance in the Chinese glass industry, and has been acknowledged and received more and more companies in the glass community. In April last year, China Glass 2008 was successfully completed in Beijing. It covered an area of 53,000 square meters and totally 736 exhibitors, including 248 foreign companies, came from 21 countries. Germany, Italy, the USA and Belgium sent their State exhibitors groups to attend the show. The event attracted 30,391 professional visitors, of which over 2622 came from 89 foreign countries. It shows that this exhibition is oriented towards mass clients not only from China, but also from other countries in the world, especially Asia and emerging economic community.

Up to now, 842 exhibitors have registered to the show. They come from 23 countries as follows: China (including the Hong Kong SAR and Taiwan), Germany, Italy, the US, the UK, France, Belgium, Czech, Finland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Austria, Australia, Jordan, Israel, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Turkey, Monaco, India and Indonesia. 225 of them are foreign exhibitors. Germany, Italy, the US and Belgium organized their state exhibition groups to attend the show. The exhibition area of China Glass 2009 reaches 55,000 sqm. This is the largest in the history of the China Glass exhibition in terms of exhibition area and the number of exhibitors.

Although financial crisis is occurring in the world, most of the exhibitors brim with confidence in the Chinese market and China Glass exhibition. The leading glass companies in the world are still enthusiastic in attending this exhibition. The Italian pavilion enlarged their exhibition area by 60%, the Glasston Group has an booth area of 775 sqm, Bottero has ordered an exhibition area of 420 sqm. Many Chinese famous glass enterprises have large exhibition booths at this exhibition. They will bring to the show with their newest technologies, equipment and products, representing the current new development of the world’s glass industry.

The exhibition displays a great variety of exhibits, covering almost all fields of glass industry, including architectural and decoration glass, glass windows and doors, hardware and fittings, industrial glass, tableware and containers, electronic glass, electric light source glass, special glass, art glass products; glass-processing machinery, abrasives and grinding tools; instruments, equipment and automatic control systems for glass production; raw material, refractory and auxiliary material, etc. Especially, the exhibition will show more about techniques for energy saving, emission reduction and efficiency increase in glass industry, development of various energy-saving and safety glass, such as low-E insulating glass, inert-gas insulating glass, laminated glass, film-pasted glass, vacuum glass, etc. The exhibition also shows that some enterprises have made new progress in the field of solar energy photovoltaics.

This exhibition is not only a platform for Chinese glass circles, but also a stage for global glass circles. Associated with the exhibition, the organizer of the Glass Performance Days (GPD) in Finland, supported by the Chinese Ceramic Society, will hold GPD China 2009 in Shanghai on 11-12, May 2009, in which there are a number of technical exchanges, focusing on “solar and glass technology”, “practicing and processing” and “architecture, facade and market trends”. The Chinese Ceramic Society, Donghua University and the Shanghai Ceramic Society will organize the 2009 International Symposium on Advanced Glass Melting Technology on May 10-12, 2009. Besides, there are 15 special technical seminars.

2.    Review of China Glass 2008 in Beijing

China Glass is the only international glass exhibition sponsored and supported by all glass industry-related governmental departments and nationwide trade associations of China. Its 19th event was successfully held in Beijing in April, 2008. It occupied 53,000 square meters area. The number of exhibiting companies increased rapidly and was up to 736 in total, which came from 21 countries including China. 85% of them were regular exhibitors. Of all the exhibiting companies 248 were foreign companies. The most of leading companies in global glass industry came here with their updated machines and technologies. Among all the 30391 professional visitors coming from 88 counties in the world, 2622 were foreign professional visitors. More than 80% of the visitors to China Glass 2008 were managerial level or above. China Glass 2008 once again created a significant trade opportunity for exhibitors and visitors including manufacturers, buyers, distributors and agencies in glass industry, meanwhile some exhibitors found out their proper distributors or partners to promote their products or markets in China and the other countries around the would. The event not only gave the attendees a trade chance, but also a technology presentation platform for professionals and specialists from research and academic institutes. There were a series of technical seminars organized at the event. Additionally, the Chinese Ceramic Society and the American counterparts organized a special forum on energy saving and emission reducing of glass furnaces. More than 90% of the exhibitors rated the range of trade and technology communication on the event as good or excellent, More than 90% of them said they would expect to attend China Glass 2009.

4.  China Glass 2009 in Shanghai

The event will take place in Shanghai New International Expo Centre from 13 to 16 May 2009. It will occupy 55,000 square meters of 4 halls and a large exhibiting tent on outdoor ground. The regular participants and 4 exhibiting groups have already reserved their spaces or pavilions. Many potential participants are following our phone call to reserve space or booth for 2009. In 2009, China Glass will see the same level exhibitors and visitors from China and various countries. The exhibitor objectives will be met to interview more visitors target groups for prospective trade chance. The event’s attraction and promotion activities by issuing local & international media’s advertisings and articles will pull much more buyers, distributors and retailers to attend China Glass 2009. The promotion campaign in the Chinese Ceramic Society and authorities frame will be so successful that many of regular participants in all parts of China will return to Shanghai and attend the 20th event.

      

5. How to Participate in the Event as Exhibitor

Any exhibitor should fill in the attached Contract and Application Form and submit it to the Beijing Zhonggui Exhibition Co., Ltd for confirmation. Then booth(s) will be tentatively allocated according to the exhibitor's request of the booth area and the booth sales situation. After 100% of the payment is made, the booth(s) can be fixed. 6.  How to Register as Visitor

Please direct contact Beijing Zhonggui Exhibition Co., Ltd. or access the China Glass’ portal website: www.ceramsoc.com to down-

load the registration form and complete the registration procedure.

 

7.  Booth Rental

Option 1: Shell Scheme Booth Rental minimum area: 9 sqm.:

US$350 per sqm

 

It includes carpeting, wall panels, company's name in original language and Chinese on fascia,  information counter, chairs, waste basket, light and socket. For specific quantities of exhibiting facilities, please read our manual to be mailed to each of exhibitors in Oct.

Option 2:  Raw Space Rental

(minimum area: 36 sqm.):

US$310 per sqm

Booths will be set up and equipped with exhibiting facilities at exhibitor’s expense.

 

8.  Terms of Payment

Down payment: the first 50% of the total contracted amount must be remitted within 14 days after receiving the signed Contract and Application Form with booth/space confirmed and an official invoice. If the down payment would not be available on bank account of BZEC within the above mentioned 14 days, the stand/space reserved would not be kept.

In case of refusal to participate in the event or failure to use the stand reserved, the cancellation in writing has to be sent to BZEC no later than March 10, 2009. In this case50% of the advance payment will be refunded. If any cancellation is received after March 10, 2009, the repayment will not be performed in view of the organization costs and the other damage caused by exhibitor’s withdrawal. BZEC reserve the right to relocate the stand to other companies.
